WEATHER NOTE

Almost all the outdoor activities listed below are contingent on area weather conditions. To check if the weather is going to be conducive for your plans, click: LOCAL WEATHER CONDITIONS. Please use your "Back" button to return to this page.

HUNTING: Deer, Turkey, Bear, Grouse, Squirrel and Rabbit abound in the Allegheny National Forest and on Pennsylvania State Game Lands, both of which surround the Westline Inn. You can hunt virtually anywhere without a "No Trespassing" sign or property line to consider. Pressure on game is low; don't be surprised to not see another hunter out there with you.

FISHING: The beautiful Kinzua Creek lies just a short walk from Westline Inn's door. Besides being well stocked, the Kinzua Creek also holds native browns and brook trout. A three mile "Artificial Lure Only" section is open year around and is located on the Westline road.

KINZUA IS AN INDIAN WORD.

IT MEANS:

"WATERS OF MANY AND LARGE FISHES."

ALLEGHENY RESERVOIR: Ten miles downstream the Kinzua Creek flows into the Allegheny Reservoir, whose waters hold the state record for Walleye, and Muskelunge, Pike and Trout and Catfish--all are there for the serious angler. Easy boat access too.

HIKING AND BIKING: Trails are everywhere! Thanks to the logging, and also the oil and gas industries, we have literally hundreds of miles of back country roads and trails, old railroad grades, and bridges. Come spend some time exploring our woods, hills and valleys.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Always a winter favorite, well maintained cross-country ski trails criss-cross all through the area. Many of these trails begin and end in or near Westline.

THE TRAIL CLUB MAINTAINS MILES

OF SKI TRAILS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT;

MOST ARE EASILY ACCESSED IN WESTLINE.

SNOWMOBILING: Winter provides another outdoor activity. The Allegheny National Forest is a maze of roads and trails designated for snowmobilers. Some of the snowmobile roads are groomed; and, like the cross-country ski trails, many of these roads and trails lead into and out of Westline.

TOURING: Believe it, the number one recreation in the forest is touring-- whether in a jeep for off road adventure or just cruising through the woods looking for deer or other wildlife. Spotlighting at night is very popular and you should check out the stars from atop Blue Mountain near the Westline Inn.

THE WESTLINE INN has a wide assortment of area maps and brochures to help you find your way around. You might want to consider getting the family together or a group of friends and spending a weekend at the Inn. We only ask you make arrangements by phone, or in person, as far ahead of time as possible. We can provide most everything you would need.
